What makes a flake floor outlive the building is the prep underneath it and the chemistry over it, and that is exactly the part the cheap one-day crews skip. Epoxy Guys have broadcast flake into more than two million square feet of Florida concrete since 2012, and every floor starts with full mechanical diamond grinding to a CSP-2 profile so the system bonds into the slab instead of sitting on top of it.

Our flake build is a true full-broadcast system. After the grind, cracks are chased and filled, the slab is moisture-tested, and a 100% solids epoxy base is rolled and back-rolled into the prepared concrete. Vinyl flake is then broadcast to refusal, meaning we throw chip until the wet base will not absorb any more, so the surface is fully saturated edge to edge with no thin spots. The next day the floor is scraped and vacuumed back to a consistent texture and sealed under one or two coats of UV-stable polyaspartic. The finished floor is roughly four times the thickness of a roll-on kit, hides slab imperfections, and gives a subtle grip underfoot that holds traction even when wet.
