One Day, Prep First.
Polyaspartic is the reason a Pelican Bay garage can be coated and handed back in a single day. It cures fast, holds its color in Gulf sun through an open door, and stands up to hot tires. All of that only pays off when the slab underneath was ground correctly.
Garages in Pelican Bay tend to be tidy, bright and in daily use, often with a car someone cares a great deal about parked inside. Owners want a new floor without the garage being out of action for most of a week. That is what our 1-day residential install is for, and the topcoat that makes it possible is polyaspartic.
Polyaspartic is a fast-curing coating that goes down clear or pigmented. In the 5-Layer Lock Sequence it is the top layer over a full flake broadcast, the surface your tires and shoes actually meet. It also tops our solid color garage floors. Either way the chemistry moves quickly, which is the whole appeal and also the whole risk.
Our Naples base is ten minutes away. Call (239) 300-0546 or tell us about the garage and we will come look at the slab before we promise you a day.
What install day looks like.
One crew, one day, in this order. How long each stage runs depends on the slab and the weather, so we walk you through the timing on the morning itself.
Walk the floor together
We confirm the finish, recheck any cracks, and agree on where the cove line stops. Cars, bins and anything resting on the slab should already be out.
Diamond grind to CSP-2
Grinding opens the concrete so the coating has something to grip. Cracks and pits are cut out and filled, and dust comes up with the vacuum as we go.
Base coat and broadcast
The 100% solids base goes down next. On a flake floor, chips are thrown across it until no base color is left showing.
Roll the polyaspartic
Loose chips are scraped and vacuumed, then the polyaspartic goes on. It levels fast, so the crew works the floor in steady, overlapping sections.
Walk and drive times
Before we leave, we tell you when you can walk on it and when the car can come back in. That depends on the heat and humidity that day, so we decide it on site.
Hot tires and Gulf light.
Two things finish off weaker garage coatings here. The first is hot tire pickup. A car comes home after a long drive in July, the tires are hot and soft, and they stick to the floor for a while. When the car backs out, a weak coating lifts with the rubber and leaves bare patches shaped like tread. A properly built polyaspartic top over a well-bonded base resists that, and the bond to the concrete counts as much as the top, which is why the grind always comes first.
The second is sun. A garage door left up on a bright afternoon lets Gulf light reach a long way into the bay. Standard epoxy topcoats tend to amber under that ultraviolet exposure. Polyaspartic is UV-stable, so white flake stays white and a cream floor stays cream along the door line, with no yellow band next to the shaded back wall.
Clear over flake, or one solid color?
Both can carry a polyaspartic top and both go down in a day. The choice comes down to how the garage is used and how you want it to look at night with every light on. Flake under a clear top is the forgiving option. The chips hide sand, tire marks and a dropped wrench, and together with metallic it is the garage finish we install most in this neighborhood.
A solid color like the cream floor here reads cleaner and more modern, and you can see right away when it needs a wipe. That cuts both ways, since every grain of sand and every scuff shows. Solid color suits a garage that stays shut most of the day and gets cleaned often. We bring boards of both to the visit, and our Pelican Bay flake page covers chip sizes and blends if you lean that way.
Why the slab has to be right first.
A slow-curing epoxy gives a crew time to fix things as they go: a missed spot, a low puddle, an edge that wants one more pass. Polyaspartic does not. Once it is mixed the clock is running, and whatever condition the slab is in gets sealed under it for good. So we treat the prep as the real job and the topcoat as the last step of it. Every garage gets a diamond grind to CSP-2, cracks cut and filled, and a slab that is clean and dry before anything is opened.
Heat and humidity matter here too. A Southwest Florida summer morning can be muggy before the truck is unloaded, and moisture in the air or rising through the slab changes how fast the coating sets. We check both before mixing. If conditions are wrong, we say so and pick another day with you.
The same speed question comes up on commercial floors, and our restaurant flooring and showroom flooring pages cover how we handle it there. For a back room that stays uncoated, see polished concrete.
Just up the road from Naples.
Pelican Bay is inside our primary service area, ten minutes from home base. Our own crews do every install, and nobody pays a travel surcharge.
It starts with a visit to check the slab and talk through flake or solid color. A written quote lands in your inbox within 24 hours, and you decide on your own time. Phone (239) 300-0546, or use our online form if that is easier. Our lifetime adhesion warranty covers the floor. The site-wide polyaspartic flooring page explains the system in general, the gallery shows finished garages, and the Pelican Bay page lists the rest of what we install nearby.
Family-run out of Naples since 2012. A one-day garage in Pelican Bay still gets the full grind and 100% solids material, and it carries the same lifetime adhesion warranty.
