Anti-Slip Coatings.

Engineered traction surfaces for the floors that have to stay safe when wet, pool decks, ramps, kitchens, entries, and wash bays across Southwest Florida. Epoxy Guys build slip resistance into the system, rather than spraying it on after.

Anti-slip coatings exist because the floors most likely to hurt someone are the ones that get wet, pool decks, kitchen lines, entry vestibules, ramps, wash bays, and walk-in coolers. A slip-and-fall is a liability event, and a smooth coating over a wet slab is how it happens. Epoxy Guys engineer traction into the system itself, broadcasting graded aggregate into the build so the grip is structural, not a temporary additive sprayed on the surface that wears off in a season. Every anti-slip floor starts with the same diamond-ground CSP-2 prep that backs all our systems.

We tune the traction to the use. A pool deck needs a barefoot-comfortable profile that still grips wet; a commercial kitchen needs an aggressive cleat-able texture that survives hot grease and daily deck-brushing; an ADA ramp needs a measured slip-resistance rating. We achieve the right profile by selecting aggregate grade and broadcast density into a 100% solids epoxy base, then locking it under a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. The aggregate is part of the system thickness, so it cannot wear away the way a sprinkled-on grit additive does. The result is a floor that stays safe wet for the life of the coating.

Anti-slip is the right call anywhere water, grease, or weather meets foot traffic and a fall is a real risk. We install engineered traction systems for residential pool decks and lanais, restaurant and commercial kitchens, entry and lobby vestibules, ADA and loading ramps, wash bays, and walk-in coolers across Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and the surrounding Collier and Lee County markets. Every project includes an on-site evaluation, a traction-profile recommendation matched to the use, a written scope, and the same lifetime adhesion warranty. Request a quote or call (239) 300-0546.

Why It Lasts

Why engineered traction lasts.

Grip that is part of the system does not wear off the way a surface additive does.

  • Traction is structural. Graded aggregate is broadcast into the build, not sprinkled on top. It is part of the floor thickness and does not wear away in a season.
  • Tuned to the use. Barefoot-comfortable for pool decks, aggressive for kitchens, ADA-rated for ramps. The profile is matched, not generic.
  • Stays safe wet. The whole point: measured slip resistance with water, grease, or weather on the surface.
  • Chemical and heat resistant. Holds up to pool chemicals, hot grease, cleaning agents, and Florida sun without losing grip.
  • Bonded for life. Diamond-ground CSP-2 prep and 100% solids epoxy, no peeling, real lifetime adhesion warranty.
  • Cleans without losing grip. Engineered so deck-brushing and pressure-washing clean the surface without polishing the traction away.
Best Fit

Where anti-slip fits.

The wet, greasy, and sloped floors where a fall is a real risk.

01Application

Pool Decks & Lanais

Barefoot-comfortable traction that grips wet, UV-stable for Florida sun, cool underfoot.

02Application

Commercial Kitchens

Aggressive grease-and-water traction that survives hot oil and daily deck-brushing.

03Application

Entry & Lobby Vestibules

The slip zone where rain-wet shoes hit a hard floor. Measured traction without an industrial look.

04Application

ADA & Loading Ramps

Sloped surfaces that need a rated, durable slip resistance for code and safety.

05Application

Wash Bays & Wash-Down

Vehicle and equipment wash areas with constant water and detergent.

06Application

Walk-In Coolers & Freezers

Condensation-prone cold floors where traction and a cleanable surface both matter.

The Process

How an anti-slip install runs.

Same engineered prep as every system, with the traction profile dialed to the use.

Step 1

On-site evaluation

We assess the slab, the wet-exposure pattern, and the traffic, then recommend a traction profile matched to the use. Written scope and fixed quote.

Step 2

Diamond grinding

Full mechanical CSP-2 grind, the bond layer every system depends on.

Step 3

Repairs & prep

Cracks chased and filled, drains and slopes checked, slab cleaned and degreased.

Step 4

Base coat

100% solids epoxy rolled into the prepared slab as the bond and build layer.

Step 5

Aggregate broadcast

Graded aggregate broadcast at the density needed for the target traction profile.

Step 6

Polyaspartic lock coat

UV-stable polyaspartic seals the aggregate into the system. Foot traffic ~24h, full service ~72h.

Common questions

Anti-slip questions.

The ones that come up most on quotes. Ask us anything else.

How is this different from grit added to a normal coating?
Sprinkled-on grit sits on the surface and polishes away under traffic and cleaning within a season. We broadcast graded aggregate into the system build so the traction is part of the floor thickness. It cannot wear off without wearing through the whole coating.
Will a pool deck still be comfortable barefoot?
Yes. Pool-deck traction uses a finer aggregate profile tuned for barefoot comfort while still gripping wet. It is a different profile than the aggressive texture we use in a commercial kitchen.
Can you hit a specific slip-resistance rating?
Yes. For ADA ramps and code-driven applications we build to a measured slip-resistance target and document the spec. Tell us the requirement at the evaluation.
Does it survive pool chemicals and hot grease?
Yes. The polyaspartic lock coat is chemical-resistant to pool chemistry and the kitchen spec is grease-rated. We match the chemistry to the exposure.
Will deck-brushing wear the grip off?
No, that is the point of engineering it into the build. Cleaning removes dirt and grease without polishing away the traction the way it does with a surface additive.
Can you add anti-slip to my existing floor?
Sometimes a compatible re-prep and lock coat works; often the existing coating must be stripped first. The evaluation tells you whether your floor can take a traction overlay or needs a full system.
What is the warranty?
The same real lifetime adhesion warranty Epoxy Guys put on every system: bond failure is covered for as long as you own the property. The traction profile is engineered to last the life of the coating.
